The Mission Continues.

When Peter and Maggie Dion were diagnosed with LGMD2C/R5, a rare and progressive childhood muscular dystrophy, there was no treatment and no U.S. clinical trial.

Together, we changed that.

With the support of The Dion Foundation and our community, the first-in-human ATA-200 gene therapy clinical trial expanded to the United States. Four U.S. children have now received this first-of-its-kind investigational treatment, with early muscle biopsies showing gamma-sarcoglycan expression in more than 90% of muscle fibers.

But four children are only the beginning.

Many more are waiting, and rare disease research does not have the funding to stop here.

Our mission now is clear: continue supporting the clinical trial and its path toward broader access while investing in the next generation of research—including re-dosing strategies and therapies aimed at repairing and regenerating muscle already lost to this disease.

Stopping disease progression is the first hurdle.

Restoring muscle is the next frontier.
